Three Great Mobile Mind Mapping Apps

All this week, I've been talking active how amazingly useful mind-mapping is for a diversity of constructive and business tasks. In my last post, I looked at a few of the top-quality mind-mapping tools for Windows. Today we'll look into out some of the coolest mind mappers for smartphones and tablets.

Mind mapping is an awesome activity for mobile devices, because information technology's inherently quick and requires very little typewriting. You can pull out your phone and tap up utilitarian mind maps as you ride the train, wait to order lunch, or patc you're standing in pipeline at the airport. It's precisely this low-rubbing simplicity that makes mind maps such a powerful joyride for productivity.

Present are a few of my favorite judgment mapping apps for the just about popular smartphone platforms.

SimpleMind+ for iPad/iPhone

SimepleMind+
SimpleMind+ is about as easy as mind mapping gets on iOS.

There's no terrible dearth of intellect mapping options for iOS, and some can put over you back A more than as $50. Just for my money (which is about $0), IT's hard to beat SimpleMind+. The basic variation is free for either iPad or iPhone, and atomic number 3 of this writing the manufacturer offers an upgrade to the full version (which supports both iPad and iPhone) for $2.99 as an in-app purchase.

SimpleMind+ is simplicity itself. Tap a bit plus sign next to any node on your mind map to add a subnode. Knock in a label and then make over more nodes. Tapping and slow instantly rearranges your maps, and you backside drop single lymph node onto another to reassign it as a subnode. In all my geezerhood of creative thinker correspondence, I've yet to determine a mind mapper as cheap, well-fixed, and insanely functional A SimpleMind+ connected the iPad. The iPhone version runs a close second.

Thinking Blank space for Android

Thinking Space
Reasoning Blank comes more or less SimpleMind's ease of use, openhanded Android users a great mind mapping option.

Android users need not fret ended the absence of SimpleMind+ on their platform. Thinking Space, which is a free download from Android Market, is very nearly as streamlined and naive as SimpleMind+. It as wel supports the same XML file format as Freemind, the great open-source mind mapper I suggested for Windows users in my last post, thusly it's ready to divvy up maps between your smartphone and your PC.

MindBerry

MindBerry
If you exercise a BlackBerry Storm, MindBerry is the best superior I've seen for fashioning mind maps on that platform.

Keypad-based BlackBerrys aren't precisely ideal for mind mapping, because they take overmuch futzing around with the trackball and readily break your train of thought. Only the BlackBerry Storm can be almost as good as an iPhone or Android device for mind mapping if you use MindBerry. This $17 app is getable for some the Ramp and for keypad-equipped BlackBerrys, but I wouldn't recommend the non-Storm version some more than I'd advocate a keypad-supported smartphone (which I wouldn't).

Many, Some More

Thither are dozens of other mind mapping apps down there, including options for WebOS , Windows Mobile, and Symbian. I can't possibly cover them all here, but I've tried plenty of the available alternatives and the ones I've listed present are my best suggestions for anyone sounding to proceeds their integer mind maps connected the road. Seek your platforms app marketplace, and you'll find no shortage of competing choices, ranging from simple (and about not-mere-plenty) freebies to powerfully composite tools that come with terms tags approaching $50, like OmniGraffle and Mindjet for iOS. If you'd like to talk over an app I didn't mention Here, please tell U.S. about it in the comments.
